Short answer
The Bioreactor does not power your Factory. It is a crafting machine that turns 5 Wheat into 1 Zombie Power every 2½ minutes, with no zombie needed. Research it after Wooden Kit II (130 red, 20 blue) and build it for 10 Glass, 8 Bronze Gear and 6 Advanced Detail. Zombie Power goes into Assembly Bench II supplies and the Magic Mirror quest.

The misunderstanding
Many players research it hoping to fix belt power. Belts still run on the Zombie Carousel; the Bioreactor adds no capacity.
Zombie Power is an item, not energy. Our factory guide covers how belt demand really works.

Tech and build cost
The Bioreactor technology costs 130 red and 20 blue and follows Wooden Kit II.
The machine costs 10 Glass, 8 Bronze Gear and 6 Advanced Detail. Glass needs Coal at the Smithy — see our coal guide.
Taking it down returns everything it cost, so placement mistakes are free to fix.
The recipe
5 Wheat make 1 Zombie Power in 2½ minutes — 10 steps of 15 seconds — at Farming mastery 1.
It is the only Factory machine that needs no zombie. Once a belt brings the wheat, it runs on its own.
It is also the only source of Zombie Power; no trader sells or buys it.
What Zombie Power is for
Supply: Appliances I at Assembly Bench II takes 1.
A Zombie Mechanism at Assembly Bench II takes 1.
Supply: Engineering Mechanism at Assembly Bench II takes 2.
The Magic Mirror quest asks for 3, and that hand-in is how you get the Sloth fragment for the portal.
Why it stops
It stops with the rest of the factory. If the Carousel cannot cover belt demand, the Bioreactor does not advance either.
An empty wheat belt is the other cause — our zombie gardening guide sets up automatic wheat.
Is it worth building?
Yes, once you need its supplies or the portal fragment. Players also note it sits on the research path toward later steel technology.
Feed it from a dedicated wheat plot so it never competes with flour production.
