Short answer
If you cannot find Polished Bronze, you are almost certainly still in the demo: it requires technology further along than the demo reaches, so the recipe simply is not available there. What is confirmed is the bronze chain beneath it — Bronze Works, a Wooden Anvil with a Hardening Bucket, and a Furnace turning scrap or copper into ingots.

Why the recipe is missing
Players hunting for Polished Bronze during the demo window come up empty, and the reason is scope rather than a bug.
Discussion on the game's own Steam forum concludes that Polished Bronze lies outside the demo, since it needs more technology to learn.
The demo ends at the introduction of The Town, and the tech tree beyond that point is only open in the full release.
Unlock Bronze Works first
Everything bronze runs through the Bronze Works unlock in the Metallurgy tab of the tech tree.
Until it is purchased, the bronze options simply do not appear at your crafting stations.
Metallurgy is worth prioritising anyway, since the same branch holds the Firewood Shed that supplies Fuel.
The stations you need
Bronze crafting happens at a Wooden Anvil, with a Hardening Bucket placed nearby as an extension — it does not have to be attached to the anvil, just close to it.
The Hardening Bucket itself costs 8 Bronze Nails and 4 Wood Planks, so build your nail supply before attempting it.
Smelting runs through Furnace 1, which converts raw materials into ingots and consumes Fuel while it works.

Feeding the furnace
Bronze Ingots come from two sources. Bronze Scrap is the convenient one — you get it from breaking down boxes and junk around the map, and its furnace recipe requires less Fuel.
Copper Ore is the sustainable one. It has to be mined from ore veins, but the deposit is renewable, which matters once your yard has been stripped.
Once you have ingots, simple bronze items are cheap: Bronze Detail, for example, needs only one ingot each.
Where the chain is heading
The bronze line is the entry point to the game's metalworking, and metalworking is what feeds two major systems.
The first is machinery: the store page describes building machinery and automating production as core to the game.
The second is war. The developers state that your zombie soldiers fight best when equipped with the finest weapons and armour, and armour and weapon crafting is listed among the game's features.
What to do until then
Stockpile the inputs. Bronze Scrap, Bronze Nails and Boards all come from the same yard junk, and demo progress carries over.
Get Bronze Works, the Wooden Anvil and the Hardening Bucket in place so that when the higher tiers open you are not still gathering basics.
And be wary of any guide quoting exact Polished Bronze costs before launch — that recipe has not been verified in a published source, and this site will not invent numbers for it.
Building the nail supply it depends on
Every bronze station is priced in nails, so a nail shortage stops the chain before it starts.
Early nails come from breaking trash piles and broken barrels around your home with an axe equipped, alongside Bronze Scraps and Boards.
The Wooden Anvil costs just 1 Short Log, crafted at a Sawhorse, plus 1 Stone, and converts Bronze Scrap into nails at six nails per scrap.
Get that running before spending nails on the Hardening Bucket, which alone wants 8 of them.
Fuel is the hidden requirement
Smelting is not free: the Furnace burns Fuel, and Fuel has its own production chain.
One Short Log chopped at a Chopping Spot yields 10 Firewood, and 2 Firewood convert to 20 Fuel at a Firewood Shed.
The shed unlocks in the same Metallurgy branch as Bronze Works and costs 10 Sticks and 2 Bronze Nails to build.
Since sheds only supply stations in their own area, your outdoor furnace and kiln need their own shed separate from the kitchen.
Why the tech tree order matters here
Recipes do not appear because you have the materials — they appear because you spent tech points.
Points come from labour, so chopping and mining both fund and supply the metal line at the same time.
That makes Metallurgy an unusually efficient early investment: one branch unlocks fuel, nails and the bronze bench.
Anything further up the bronze chain, including polished variants, simply waits behind unlocks the demo never reaches.
What we will not guess at
No published first-party source lists a Polished Bronze recipe, ingredient count or station requirement.
Because of that, this page deliberately stops at the verified chain instead of filling the gap with plausible-looking numbers.
Guides that quote exact costs for it before the full game shipped are working from assumption rather than a source.
When a verified recipe is available, it will be added here with the source attached.
Preparation that will not be wasted
Whatever the final recipe looks like, it sits downstream of ingots, which means scrap, ore and fuel are safe things to stock.
Yard junk gives nails, scrap and boards for free, and demo progress carries into the full game on the same platform.
Ore veins near your workshop provide the renewable copper supply once the yard is stripped.
Getting Bronze Works, the anvil and the Hardening Bucket in place now means you are only waiting on the unlock, not on logistics.
Where bronze leads in the full game
Metalwork feeds the two systems the sequel is built around. The first is machinery and automated production, which the store page lists as core features.
The second is war: the game advertises crafting armour and weapons and training your undead troops.
The developers add that zombies fight best when equipped with the finest weapons and armour, so metal quality has a direct combat payoff.
That is why the bronze line is worth pushing early even before its higher tiers are reachable.
