Updated 2026-09-25 · Searched as “graveyard keeper 2 abandoned sawmill”

Short answer

The abandoned sawmill is the timber work zone in the south-west of the Inquisition Base. It arrives with a Timber Stockpile and a Simple Chest (2 Reanimation Liquid and an Inquisitor's Note I inside). Its build desk offers chests, a Lumberjack Stand, Timber Stockpile, Porter Station and the Upgrade Sawmill (2 Wooden Plank, 4 Brick, after Zombie Lumberjack II).

Where the sawmill is

The sawmill is a work zone on the Inquisition Base, in the south-west. When you first reach it, it is an abandoned sawmill.

Like the garden and the yard, it has its own build desk, and what you place there only serves this zone.

Open the chest first

A Timber Stockpile and a Simple Chest are already placed when you arrive.

The chest holds 2 Reanimation Liquid and 1 Inquisitor's Note I.

Reanimation Liquid is needed for every new zombie, so this is a genuinely useful early find.

What the build desk offers

The desk lists seven buildings: Simple Chest, Chest, Large Chest, Lumberjack Stand, Timber Stockpile, Porter Station and Upgrade Sawmill.

The Lumberjack Stand is the zombie post for felling, and the Porter Station handles hauling.

Chests matter because zombie workers do not carry goods between zones — the timber stays here until you or a porter move it.

Vegetable plots, outdoor workstations and a red-roofed home surround the keeper's garden.

Upgrading the sawmill

Upgrade Sawmill costs 2 Wooden Plank and 4 Brick.

It is unlocked by the Zombie Lumberjack II technology, so plan it together with your zombie workforce rather than as a standalone build.

Bricks come from the Smithy, which our iron guide explains alongside its Hammer extension.

Making the zombie lumberjack faster

Tool quality matters at the Lumberjack Stand. A zombie holding a Steel Axe works faster there.

Until then, any axe unlocks the woodworking mastery a lumberjack needs — see our zombie guide for how tools raise mastery.

Wood from the sawmill feeds planks, beams and firewood, so this zone quietly supports almost every other production line.
