Short answer
Orders are taken from the chalk board inside the Town Warehouse, and only on Pride day (the purple sun icon). You can hold two at once, and each wants a packed Supply box — for example Supply: Iron — not loose materials. Urgent orders must be fully delivered within a week. Payment arrives on a fixed day: collect it at the desk, then select the order again to take the Town Gratitude.

Where and when to take orders
Everything happens at the chalk order board inside the Town Warehouse.
New orders can only be accepted on Pride day, the day marked with the purple sun icon in the calendar.
You can hold a maximum of two orders at the same time, so pick ones your production can actually cover.
Deliver Supply boxes, not loose items
This is why deliveries seem not to count: orders want packed supply boxes rather than raw goods.
Iron, for instance, goes in as Supply: Iron, crafted from ingots, not as a stack of Iron Ingots.
Check the exact Supply item the order names and craft that before walking to the Warehouse.
Urgent orders
Urgent orders require the full delivery within one week. Ordinary orders have no such deadline.
In exchange, finishing an urgent order within the week pays out more than average, which makes them a good money source once production is stable.
Collecting the payout
Payment does not arrive the moment you hand over the goods; it lands on a fixed day.
On Pride day, interact with the order desk to collect the money, then select the order again to take the Town Gratitude.
Players report 15, 20 or 25 Gratitude per completed order, which makes orders the biggest single Gratitude source in the game.
Unlocking more orders
Building or restoring a shop in The Town brings its trader, and each shop upgrade expands their stock and adds two new town orders.
Merchant prices also shift with their stock: items are cheaper when a merchant holds more of them.
One early order, Workshop Hours, ties into Jack's story and gives 10 Jack reputation and one Town Gratitude.
Automating deliveries
Repeated orders are where the Factory pays off. A town-supplies module with a packing bench and a Supply Station can keep boxes coming without you.
Build it after your kit lines are stable — our factory guide shows a module order that leads there.
