Update 1.009 (October 6)

Crashes: fixed a crash while loading a save, error pop-ups when a gardener zombie tried to harvest a crop that was already gone, and a freeze when assigning a zombie whose predecessor was no longer valid.

Zombies: you can pick up or inspect a caretaker while they are out working; zombies at the sawmill, mine, clay pit and sand pit no longer get stuck after carrying; caretakers no longer get stuck on quarry objects.

Perks and items: Son of a Butcher now applies to organ surgery; the pre-order Sauna bonus no longer permanently reduces the energy food restores; bait stored in bags is now found when you fish.

Also: the day now rolls over correctly at exactly midnight, the sermon no longer ends incorrectly, and getting stuck after upgrading the nun's base is fixed.

Update 1.008 (October 2)

Balance: more Likes from deliveries, fewer crates per delivery, a bigger Happy Supplier bonus, a higher cap on Likes from trading, and more Town Gratitude for winning battles.

Fixes: the zombie Panic debuff now triggers when you are over the zombie cap, the Sommelier perk now boosts wine, and the PR machine lasts as long as stated.

Quests: fixed the Inflation / mercenary error and a main-quest softlock after Linda's Ball. Fast Travel Points can no longer be used during battle.

Launch-week patches

September 22 hotfix: pre-order bonus content missing from existing saves.

1.005 (September 24): stations, corpses and resurrection fixes, more logs from sawing, rebalanced Kiln and Furnace costs, and an alchemy-tower FPS fix.

1.006 (September 25): in-game bug reporting on Steam, retroactive achievements for demo-save milestones, and protection for Defender's Emblems.

1.007 (September 28): duplication exploits closed (bag-to-bag, alchemy, Dynamite destroy-and-sell), saving FPS drops fixed, and quest blockers including Central Districts Purge and Jack's tools.

What the developers plan next

In "Plans for the future" (October 2), the developers said some tasks "have become chores" and listed changes without dates.

More gears from zombies for conveyor belts, more Faith from sermons, and movable workstations once built.

Zombie helpers that collect output and restart Kiln and Furnace crafts, zombie farmers that collect Peat and restart Compost Heaps, a reworked Panic Reduction system, more order slots as population grows, simpler trader upgrades, Hypno-devices rechargeable through the Astrologer, and cremation for zombies.
